Maintaining Happiness: Thinking Past the Momentary Doubts


1. Problems in the crisis.
     A. Timing. Gods time is not ours. Ps. 90:4
     B. The wisdom of God goes beyond our own. (Psalm 136:5)
     C. We can't depend upon our own strength. Job 6:11, Ps. 31:4, Ps. 38:10, 2 Cor. 12:9

2. Portrait of wicked who bring problems.
     A. What he does because of pride.
          - Persecutes those with less. v.2
          - Does not seek God. v.4
          - Cannot believe he will fall. v.6
     B. His attitude toward God. (open or hidden)
     - Blesses those who are covetous. v.3 "Good is evil" in his sight. Isaiah 5:20, Rom. 1:32, 2 Thes. 2:12
     - Does not seek God. v.4 "No fear" Rom. 3:11
     - God is not in all his thoughts. v.4 "Bible out of schools."
     - His ways are grieving to God. v.5 "Forever party"
     - Challenges the omniscience of God. v.11 "Nothing happened yet." 2 Pet. 3:4
     - Denies the judgment of God. v.13 "We die and that's it." Jer. 14:13 & 14, Mal. 2:17

3. The outcome.
     A. God is still the king. v.16
     B. God heard from the beginning. v.17
